Bocas residents stirred the pot on September 25th at the Bocas Brewery for the 11th annual Chili Challenge (also known as the famous Chili Cook-Off). It’s become quite the Bocas tradition since JB Seligman of Buena Vista Realty and John Lang started cooking on beautiful September afternoons 11 years ago. Teams start cooking at 9am and everything is done on site. People pay $4 for a cup and voting card. At 2pm everyone tastes the different styles of chili and votes for their favorite.
This year’s teams were Ositos Grill, Chili Chikas, Cowboy Chili, Cocomo Chili Heads, Hot Shyte, Cosmic Chili (of Cosmic Crab), Fulla Bull, Seaside Chili, Dead Man Chili and Toro Chili. The title went to the people of Toro Loco (Toro Chili). Congratulations! Many thanks to all that took part in this extremely fun event. See you next year!
