Festival Calypsonian Black People Together 2024, 7pm, in the Feria del Mar, on the stage next to Chiquita Beach. A hommage to the great ambassadors of calypso music, in honor of Panama’s National Calypso Day. Organized by the group Changuinola Afro Caribbean. More info here

Oct 24 – The U.S. Embassy in Panama is pleased to announce that representatives from the Consular Section will visit Isla Colon to offer limited services (U.S. passport renewal and notarial services). These will be held at the Palma Royale Hotel on Thursday, October 24th, 11am to 1pm and 2:30pm-5:30pm. Reserve your space here

Oct 31 – 20th Annual Halloween Kids Party at Buena Vista. A Bocas del Toro tradition, where kids create their best homemade costumes. The restaurant is decked out, the main street is closed off in front of Buena Vista and it’s a big afternoon street party. Stay tuned to Buena Vista’s social media for more info.
Nov 1 & 3 – Filthy Friday Fiestas Patrias. During the most prolific week of celebrations all year in Panama, many will flock to Bocas for the famous island hopping party crawl brought to you by the creators of the most notorious party in all of Central America. Nov 2 – Dia del los Difuntos (Day of the Dead). Panamanians honor the deceased by remembering loved ones, bringing flowers to their graves and doing any necessary maintenance. “Ley seca” (dry law), the sale and consumption of alcohol is prohibited.
Fiestas Patrias November Holidays. National holidays Nov 3, 4, 5, 10 and 28 (government offices, banks and some private businesses will close for the day). Nov 16 and 23 are special holidays locally and places may close for the day as well.
Nov 3 – Separación de Colombia (Separation from Colombia). Panama celebrates its independence from La Gran Colombia in 1903. Public holiday and the first of many big parties during the month of November. Many visitors from Panama City and the interior of the country.
Nov 4 – Dia de la Bandera (Flag Day) The flag of Panama was drafted in secrecy and presented the day after the separation was proclaimed.
Nov 5 – Día de Colon (Colon Day) A commemoration of the day that the separation of Panama from Colombia was secured
Nov 10 – Officially this date marks an uprising in the village of Los Santos in the year 1821 and is recognized as the first step toward independence from Spain.
Nov 16 – Bocas Day. The biggest street party of the year with parades and local pride commemorating the foundation of Panama’s first province, Bocas del Toro, November 16, 1903. Marching bands travel from all over Panama and Costa Rica to participate in a night time contest.
Nov 23 – Bastimentos Day. The celebration of the foundation of Bastimentos in 1903. Like Bocas Day, except the party is in Old Bank, Bastimentos Town.
Nov 28 – Independencia de España (Independence from Spain) What began with the “first cry of Los Santos” resulted 18 days later in the proclamation of a new nation, independent from Spain: Gran Colombia.
