International Rotary Collaboration in Bahia Roja

Our future generation of earth shakers now have another reason to look forward to school in the morning. They have a brand new bathroom built by the  Rotary Club of New Richmond in Wisconsin who put in a notable amount of work, time and funds to make the project happen. The residents of Bahia Roja and Bocas Rotary Club were there to assist throughout the six-day project. The Wisconsin club even brought a suitcase of sanitation supplies, soccer balls and more for the children. The project was initiated by Wisoncin Rotarian Dan Heffron, who is also a member The Foundation at Red Frog. Heffron wanted his Wisconsin Club to get involved with a Rotary service project trip in the Bocas del Toro community and helping Red Frog’s Bahia Roja neighborhood was the perfect opportunity.

There was a whole lot of sun, sweat and smiling and the Bocas Breeze is proud to say that we put our own little stroke of paint on this bathroom.The residents of the community were so thankful for the project and made sure to provide lunch on all six days.

Nuestra futura generación ahora tiene una razón más para anhelar ir a la escuela en la mañana. Ahora tienen un baño completamente nuevo que fue construido por el Club Rotario de New Richmond en Wisconsin quienes pusieron una cantidad notable de trabajo, tiempo y fondos para que este proyecto se diera. Los residentes de Bahía Roja y el Club Rotario de Bocas del Toro estuvieron presentes para ayudar durante el proyecto de seis días. El club de Wisconsin trajo una maleta con suministros de saneamiento, pelotas de fútbol y más para los niños. El proyecto fue iniciado por Dan Heffron, un miembro de la organización The Foundation at Red Frog. Había mucho sol, sudor y sonrisas y el Bocas Breeze está orgulloso de decir que nosotros también pusimos nuestro poco de pintura en el baño. Los residentes de la comunidad estaban tan agradecidos por el proyecto y se aseguraron de proporcionar el almuerzo durante los seis días.
