A Quiet Horseback Journey Through Bluff Beach Nature

Here is one relaxed, nature-focused way to explore one of the most beautiful and changing landscapes on Isla Colón. This is not a fast-paced or information-heavy guided tour, but rather a peaceful ride where you connect with your horse and surroundings while moving at a gentle walking pace.

The route starts at the Bluff Beach Retreat hotel and follows the Bluff Beach road through lush jungle trails to destinations such as La Piscina, the Blue Lagoon, and Rock Beach. You'll pass through dramatically changing scenery—from open beach areas to dense tropical forest, then into more sparsely populated stretches before opening back up to the sea. Along the way, guides keep an eye out for wildlife and are especially skilled at spotting sloths and monkeys, making animal sightings very likely, though never forced or disruptive.

The experience is intentionally quiet and unhurried, allowing riders to take in the shifting flora and fauna in a way that feels immersive and calm—an ideal alternative to louder, motorized activities. Upon reaching La Piscina, guests are encouraged to swim, snorkel, relax, explore the area, or enjoy a light picnic. Bringing snorkel gear and food is recommended.

The full outing lasts approximately two to three hours, depending on how much time is spent at La Piscina. On the return ride, some guests choose to hop off at one of the wonderful Bluff Beach restaurants to enjoy a drink or meal before heading back.

Tours are suitable for riders ages 12 and up, with a weight limit of 220 lbs. Horses are well-trained, friendly, and come from Finca Limones’ own stable. Helmets are required and provided. Reservations are required.
