On the back deck of the Paraiso Caribeño hotel, overlooking the channel between Bocas Town and Isla Carenero, you will find a sweet over-the-water lounge, bar and restaurant.

Re-opened in its new location in December 2024, El Pecado is actually a veteran in the Bocas del Toro restaurant scene, dating back to the very beginning of the tourism boom in the early 2000's. It's a favorite among the resident expat community.

Some popular dishes over the years have been the Filet Mignon, Pork Filet, Sesame Crusted Tuna, Garlic & Ginger Mahi Mahi and the Pineapple Shrimp Ceviche. It is a total Surf and Turf affair at El Pecado! Caribbean grill style.

As of May 2026 El Pecado has a new chef, Mr. Eros Torricellini. From one island to another, the Sicilian native with 14 years of Panama City experience, combines traditional southern Italian cuisine with the best of Panama's Caribbean, resulting in a seafood extravaganza. The Frutti de Mare is highly recommended, the sauce based in a flavorful seafood bisque. Expect more and more seafood and pasta specials to come! Also recommended is the Pasta Carbonara, the most traditional version, without cream or milk. Say yes to anything pesto; made fresh in-house.

Breakfast and brunch is served every day 7am to 2pm: omelettes, egg Benedict, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, waffles, pancakes, coffees, smoothies, tropical fruit and all your favorite sides! Burgers and salads, too: brunch style.

It's one of the only places open at 7am; perfect to fuel up before a big day of touring the islands and this menu is served until 2pm, so also ideal if you've had a late night enjoying the Bocas Town nightlife scene to the fullest.

Start your night at El Pecado. Relax on the waterfront lounge couches as you sip on Mojitos, Strawberry Margaritas and Bloody Ceasers, watching the night unfold. The hotel-restaurant-lounge is centrally located in Bocas Town, so it makes for the perfect place to grab dinner and drinks before heading out to one of the nearby clubs. They have their own entertainment from time to time, announced on Instagram @elpecadodelsaborbocas.

El Pecado is open every day for breakfast and brunch, 7am to 2 pm and dinner is served Tuesday-Saturday, open all day 7am to 11pm (and even later sometimes when the bar is happening, which...tends to happen!) Happy Hour is 4-7pm.
