Baby Born in the Park

On April 29th at 2:45 AM, the police arrived to the scene of a young lady giving birth to a baby boy in the middle of Parque Simon Bolivar. The mother was assisted by a family member and a kind stranger, an unknown tourist girl. The police assisted the ladies until an ambulance was able to arrive and transport the mother and newborn to the hospital. The new mother had came all the way from Loma Partida (a 45 minute boat ride from Isla Colon, more or less) and was obviously unable to make it to the hospital before she went suddenly into labor in the middle of the park. Kudos to the Policia Nacional and the kind stranger for being there for the mother.
