Happy Fiestas Patrias to the country of Panama! I am very happy to be here and would like to thank the people of Panama and especially of Bocas del Toro for opening its doors to me and giving me the 7 best years of my life. I was not born in Panama and in Bocas you will find many foreign residents such as myself, as well as seasonal visitors and tourists passing through from a great variety of nations.

With this issue of the Bocas Breeze, I would like to salute all the kind visitors who really love and respect the islands- the ones who care about Bocatoranian’s interests and want to integrate themselves into the community in a positive way. This issue is also for all the beautiful people of Bocas del Toro who are accommodating and welcoming to people from outside who come to experience the magic of the islands.

The stories on pages 6 and 10 are a few examples of what the community of Bocas del Toro can achieve when government, local businesses and residents from all cultures come together.
